Boss, you were my pal before you were my Manager and we were going to take on the world (MECD) and it was going to be good. I can find no comfort in what has happened so instead I am going to reflect on the good times. You always smiled, you constantly talked about your beloved Claire and your boys (and Bella of course). You brought me down from the edge, you looked after me through my pregnancy. You forced me to rest when I was determined not to. You worked so hard, you had so much integrity, you were kind, human, trustworthy, normal and very northern. You did have awful taste in music though. Darren you absolutely had your priorities right, you lived for your footie and your family holidays and went home each night and lived a happy life with your gorgeous family. Although, that was no where long enough, it was quality and it was full. To say we are all heartbroken is an understatement, for Claire, your lads, family and friends as well as ourselves. Thanks for being the best work-Dad (I know your fuming because you are/were deffo not old enough to be my dad), a great friend, mentor and perfect boss! Rest easy pal x
